EVOB to VOB: Convert Video from EVOB(HD-DVD and BlueRay Enhanced VOB) to VOB(DVD Media File) with River Past Video Cleaner, EVOB2VOB converter, conversion


What is EVOB?

Similar to the VOB files on DVD, EVOB files contains the video on HD-DVD and BlueRay discs. It stores video at up to 1920x1080 60P in MPEG-2, VC-1, or AVC formats.

To convert from EVOB files, you will need to install both CCCP, GPL MPEG-2 Decoder, and AC-3 Decoder Filter.


What is VOB?

VOB standards for "Video Object". It is the file type to store video on a DVD disc. It is actuallly a MPEG-2 video, with special extension to support PCM, AC3, DTS audio, subpictures, and button navigation commands.


Additional Requirements 

To convert from EVOB(HD-DVD and BlueRay Enhanced VOB) to VOB(DVD Media File) video with River Past Video Cleaner, you must have River Past MPEG-2 Booster Pack installed.

Launch River Past Video Cleaner

Once River Past Video Cleaner is installed properly, launch Video Cleaner.



Add File

Click on the "Add File" button on the tool bar. The standard file open dialog appears. Select "EVOB - Enhanced VOB" in its "Files of type" combo box.


Note: To convert from EVOB files, you must have CCCP and GPL MPEG Decoder installed.


River Past Video Cleaner


Select Output Format

Use the setting panel on the bottom of the window to control the output format. Click on the toggle to the left of the "Output Format" label to expand the panel. Select "VOB - DVD MPEG-2" as the "File Type".


Note: The MPEG-2 Booster Pack must be installed for the "MPG - MPEG-2" output option to show.

Select "NTSC" or "PAL" under "TV Standard" according to your location. Additional options under "Video Settings" changes accordingly depending on your selection of TV Standard.

Change Video Settings

Click on the toggle to the left of the "Video Settings" label to expand the panel.


You can change the size, and bitrate of the video.

If the TV standard is NTSC, you have the option to use 720x480, 704x480, 352x480 and 352x240 as the video resolution.

If the TV standard is PAL, you have the option to use 720x576, 704x576, 352x576 and 352x288 as the resolution.

The bitrate is in the unit of kbit/second. Use this formula to calculate the video size per minute:

Video size/minute (KByte/second) = bitrate / 8 * 60.

Change Audio Settings

Click on the toggle to the left of the "Audio Settings" label to expand the panel.


The sample rate on DVD must be 48khz. You can choose to use either PCM (uncompressed audio) or MPEG Audio Layer-2.


Select output directory

Expand the "Output Directory" panel. Use the "Browse" button to select an output directory.



Convert

Click the "Convert" button on the tool bar.
