MPEG-2 to Cell Phone: Convert MPEG-2(MPEG-2 Video) video to Cell Phone with River Past Crazi Video

What is MPEG-2?

A variant of the MPEG video and audio compression algorithm and file format, optimised for broadcast quality video. MPEG-2 was designed to transmit images using progressive coding at 4 Mbps or higher for use in broadcast digital TV and DVD. An MPEG-2 player can handle MPEG-1 data as well. MPEG-2 has been approved as International Standard IS-13818.

To convert MPEG-2 video to other formats with River Past software, please have GPL MPEG-2 Decoder installed.

Launch Crazi Video

Install Crazi Video, launch Crazi Video.

Add File

Click on the "Add File" button on the tool bar. The standard file open dialog appears. Select "MPG - MPEG Video" in its "Files of type" combo box.

Select the file you want to convert and click "Open". The file will be added to the conversion file list.

Note: To convert from MPEG-2 video, you must have GPL MPEG-2 Decoder installed.

Select Cell Phone Output

Click on the toggle in front of "Output Format" to expand the panel.

Select "Cell Phone" as the device type.

Change individual file settings

Select the file in the conversion list. An additional panel "Convert File" appears.

Click on the toggle to expand the panel.

If you want to extract the audio from the video, select "Audio" as the "Media Type".

The aspect ratio is retrieve from the original video file. In some cases, this value may be incorrect. To change it, you can either select from the list, or type in a value.

Select output directory

Expand the "Output Directory" panel. Use the "Browse" button to select an output directory.

Since this conversion is for generic cell phones, you will need to copy the converted files to your phone manually. The method varies depending on your cell phone model.

Convert

Click the "Convert" button on the tool bar.
