What is LAME?
LAME is an open source MPEG-3 encoder codec. There are several flavors of LAME - an exe console application, a DLL, and a Windows ACM codec.
The LAME ACM does not work. With LAME ACM installed, your built-in "MPEG Layer-3" audio codec on Windows is replaced by LAME ACM, but in most cases, it will either crash, or not producing any data at all. Unfortunately, many "codec packs" includes LAME ACM and causes your MP3 software to fail.
This tutorial covers how to install lame_enc.dll to use with River Past software.
